Preparing situational reports, monthly activity report, newsletter, articles, drafting & review disaster documents, Conducting Community Based Disaster Reduction and Management, (CBDRM)–Training/ Capacity Building Programme with Community Trust Fund, (CTF) Tsunami Team, Sri Lanka. In addition to this assignment, I am also working for Sustainable Disaster Recovery, Livelihood Restoration Programme with CBDRM approach and application of (EWS) Early Warning System; with specially resource mobilization and focusing on Tsunami IDPs (Women and Children) in Sri Lanka. Super Cyclone-1999, (hence forth), Project, Orissa, India.

I conducted an in-depth/ comprehensive study/research on impact of Super Cyclone-1999, (mainly spectrum of socio-economic/ environmental impacts) on Orissa, India and prepared a timeline report on two hundred years of cyclonic events & warning system of Orissa. I was analyzing the entire data, prepared and presented final research report as per assignment guidelines. The Whole project was conducted under my direct   supervision, guidance and coordination. During study period, our team conducted several CBDRM and Early warning system awareness and training programme among the Super Cyclone-99, affected communities.

I was selected for higher study in Asian Institute of Technology, (AIT), Thailand with USAID fellowship.

Research Experience:  

     1. I have done a Research during my Masters degree (MSc.) in AIT, in Urban Environmental Management, I carried out a Research work entitled " Potential of Reducing Poverty through Urban Environmental Management Practices: A Case Study of a Poor Community in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India, August, 2003. (This Research study was supported by INDO-US FIRE-D Project office, New Delhi, India and UNDP India, Orissa hub office). 

     2. I have done a two years full analytical research in the “impact of Super cyclone -99, with special reference to Early Warning System” under supervision and guidance of Dr. Michael H. Glentz, Sinior Scientist and sponsored by NCAR, USA from 2003 to 2005.  

     3. I have done a Desk research on “Tsunami Impact on Costal India and Sri Lanka”, 2005-06 with Community Trust Fund, Sri Lanka and Mrs.Rakhai Bhavnani, Harvard University, USA.

     4. Presently I am doing Ph.D. and continuing research on “Role of Urban Government for Sustainable Development (Environmental management and Poverty Reduction) in India: A Case Study of Bhubanashar Municipal Corporation, Orissa”. 

Fellowship & Awards: 

     I got certificate of merit from Utkal University for all round performances in literacy & cultural activity and best voluntership on academic session 2000-2001. I got certificate for Best performance in the National Level Youth Parliament Competition as a secretary general sponsored by ministry of parliamentary affairs, Government of India. I was awarded USAID/RUDO Fellowship for my master’s (MSc.) on Urban Environmental Management (UEM), in the AIT, Thailand, 2002-2003.  I got United Nations University (UNU/ILI) fellowship for the Leadership training Programme in Jordan/Amman.

      As I personally suffered during the Super Cyclone–1999, it brings me intuitive passion towards serving affected people of the disaster prone areas around the globe and taking as my professional carrier within it. I have associated with the several Community Based Voluntary Organizations (CBOs), which are working for the development of socio-economic weaker communities, poverty reduction, educational & cultural awareness, disaster reduction and management, environmental awareness and plantation programme in Orissa, India. During last Tsunami disaster (26th December, 2004), I have associated with Utkal University and Nasik Military College  Team for immediate relief and rehabilitation work in disaster-affected areas of south India (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pandicheri). During my association with several national and international organization, I got membership some of the humanitarian and developmental organizations;
